The Apple eMac "800"
features an 800 MHz PowerPC 7441 (G4) processor with the
AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit and a 256k
on-chip level 2 cache, 256 MB of RAM (128 MB after May 6,
2003) (PC100 SDRAM), a 60.0 GB Ultra ATA hard drive (40.0 GB
after May 6, 2003), a tray-loading 2X/6X/8X/4X/24X
DVD-R/CD-RW SuperDrive (32X CD-ROM after May 6, 2003) and
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX (ATI Radeon 7500 after May 6, 2003)
graphics acceleration with 32 MB of DDR SDRAM in a compact
all-in-one case with a 17.0" (16.0" viewable area) CRT
display (resolution support up-to 1280x960 in 24-bit color).
The eMac series ships with an ice white Apple Pro Keyboard
and Mouse, and can be configured with either MacOS 9.2 or
MacOS X v.10.2 as the default operating system. The second
version, shipped after May 6, 2003, also includes internal
support for AirPort Extreme. Custom configurations are also
available.
